Help Daisy and Her Puppies Start Healthy
Donation protected
Daisy was abandoned when her family moved and simply left her behind. A kind family took her in, but she wasn’t getting along with their other dog, so they had to find a new home for her. That’s where we came in. We brought her home to live with us. She is the absolute sweetest dog. She loves to just lay on the couch and get petted. A week after we brought her home, we took her to the vet for a checkup and shots, since we had no clue what her healthcare status was. The vet informed us that she has heartworms, tick disease, and ear infections. We started her on meds, with hopes that these illnesses would be dealt with and Daisy would be in full health in a few months. But even though the vet caught all of that, they missed something else that we figured out later. Daisy is pregnant! And while we were ready to take on her care and get her healthy despite the costs, we were not exactly prepared to care for puppies (and who knows how many we will have)! Because Daisy has heartworms, the puppies will need special treatment to make sure their little hearts are healthy. And that, as well as the costs associated with birth, vet care, shots, etc. for what will probably be 8-10 pups, is a bit more than we were expecting financially when we rescued Daisy. We want to make sure that Daisy and her puppies are all safe and healthy to the best of our ability. If you feel led and are able, we would greatly appreciate any donations to help us give all of these dogs the best start that we can.
