Hi everyone, my name is Daija, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of myself and my partner, Quan. We truly hate having to ask for help—especially during the holiday season—but we’re in a situation we never imagined, and anything you can give would mean the world to us.
On December 3rd, 2025, we signed the lease for what was supposed to be our new home. We moved all of our belongings in around 1 AM on December 4th, excited to finally settle in. But around 1 PM that same day, the apartment caught fire. We hadn’t even spent 12 hours there. The fire destroyed the majority of what we own. We lost almost all of our furniture, our identification documents (IDs, birth certificates, Social Security cards), most of our clothing, and personal and sentimental items that can never be replaced.
We’re trying to stay strong, especially because we are expecting a baby at the beginning of May. What should have been a time of preparing and nesting has suddenly turned into us trying to rebuild from scratch. We know times are hard for everyone—especially during the holidays—and we sincerely apologize for having to ask for help. But right now, anything helps: donations, shares, prayers, anything. Your support will go toward replacing basic necessities, documents, and baby items we were preparing to buy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, sharing, donating, and just caring. We are beyond grateful for any help during this awful and unexpected moment in our lives.
