Hello, My name is Marisa and Dai is my 12-year-old canine best friend. She has been with me since I found her as a stray when I was in college almost a decade ago.

She has recently developed a potentially cancerous growth on her rear that is open and bleeding/weeping. Her vet has informed us that she needs emergency surgery as soon as possible to remove it. Both to test for cancer but also because it is currently an open wound that cannot be shut and can cause her to go septic if left to get infected, as well as simply the pain / quality of life issues she is currently facing with it.

On top of being an older dog, Dai has a heart condition that makes this surgery high risk for her, as such she will need to visit her cardiologist and have a full workup and exam on top of the surgery itself, to asses her current level of risk and give the veterinary surgeons all information possible to do what they can for Dai's heart with the anesthesia as they operate.

I am of course, dedicated to doing EVERYTHING I can to do right by Dai, and am following all requests and directions from her vet and care team to the letter.

However, I have had a series of health emergencies Myself this year, and due to that do not have the funds to actually cover the costs of Dai's procedures, which kills me.

I am starting this campaign to seek help in raising the funds for her as a last resort out of desperation, anything that can be spared is greatly appreciated, I know these are tough times for Everyone not just Dai and I, so I also understand if there is nothing to give, but if you are in a position to be able to donate, and have a desire to, or even just to share, Dai and I both would like to express our immense gratitude.
