Helping Dagny Heal After Carjacking.

On April 6th, 2021, my 73 year old Aunt Dagny was sitting in her car outside a business in Mid City New Orleans when she was car jacked and robbed.  During the course of the car jacking, while she was outside the vehicle,   the driver put the car in reverse hitting her and knocking her to the ground breaking both of her hips.   Then, as  the driver pulled away, they ran over her left side crushing her hand and breaking her knee, a femur and one of her ankles.  She was on the ground immobile and screaming when she was thankfully helped by some good samaritans who called an ambulance and she was rushed to the hospital where the doctors preformed surgery on her hips, knees, and hand.  Miraculously, she survived the incident, spending 1 week in the ICU and an additional 3 weeks in the hospital, including 2 weeks in a hospital rehabilitation center where it became clear that, due to her injuries, she would require a wheelchair for the foreseeable future.  
We are asking for help with medical costs accumulated over the month that she was in hospital as well as the costs of making her house wheel chair accessible. She needs almost 24 hour assistance, including an attendant to stay in her home to assist her at night.   She requires significant physical therapy and is currently fighting to walk again.  
We are only asking for a little help along the way as she has a strong and loyal support system through her family here.  Her only income is through social security, however, and we want to be sure she doesn't have to worry excessively over money after this unexpected and tragic event.   My Aunt has a kind and loving spirit and I couldn't imagine it happening to a more innocent soul.  We are all remaining positive and working on helping her heal, please join us.
