Hey friends! I often tell stories about my current students, but today I want to tell you about our son, Dag.
I first met him when he was a freshman at BHS. He was in my English I class. He was the hardest working student I had, and the class did not come easily to him. I learned late in the year that he moved here from Ghana when he was 8.
When he was a senior, we reconnected and when he graduated he went on to Sam Houston State. Brian and I have unofficially adopted him as our own.
Since his freshman year at Sam Houston, he has become quite a talented rugby player. He has traveled all over the country with his team playing tournaments. He has attended a camp in California for Olympic hopefuls.
Last October, he made one of his biggest dreams come true--he became a U.S. citizen. Brian and I were honored to be there for that ceremony.
Dag, a finance major graduating in May, works almost full time at Home Depot to support himself while going to school all while keeping up with his rugby and training. His grade point average this semester was a 3.75.
Dag has an opportunity to go to another national camp in Georgia in January. However, we need to raise a little money to send him there. ($600)
I know it's that time of year when money may be a little tight (I know it is for us!), but if you are able to donate a few dollars to help this unbelievable young man to get to camp, we would be so grateful!
We also appreciate any good wishes/prayers to share with Dag.
Merry Christmas!!
