Help DADA Sushi

Hello, my name is Irene Choi and I am asking for your help to get DADA Sushi back on our feet.
My family has spent 7 years building and cherishing our business, DADA Sushi. My father, Steve Choi, works day and night sacrificing his physical and mental state in order to support our family and provide for our customers. We have constantly hit negative obstacles, which led to where we are now. First, the pandemic caused us to shut down as many of our family members have battled with the COVID-19 illness during the first wave. This caused a huge financial barrier and emotional distress amongst our employees, customers, and us. During this time, we did everything we could do to survive and get the business up and running. It was difficult to promote our opening, hire/train new employees, and regain the strength to overcome the emotional and physical toll this had to our family. But, we eventually overcame these struggles within the time span of a year and then, recreated what we were once proud of.
After a few months of steady business, the restaurant experienced harsh back-to-back obstacles. The main pipeline bursted because the maintenance was not kept up to date causing our entire restaurant to flood. Keeping up with the maintenances throughout the building is in the hands of the building owners and landlord, yet we experienced the consequences. In order to continue business we have to demolish the walls and floors then rebuild them again, due to past financial troubles the floors that were ripped out were actually entirely installed by my dad's two hands about 2 years ago. It was personally upsetting to watch my dad's hard work forcefully getting demolished as I constantly worry about his physique and abilities to even carry on his daily obligations as a restaurant owner and sushi chef.
This flooding was uncontrollable and could not be prevented as it was not our responsibility to carry out maintenances. Yet, we are obliged to pay full rent and for the new installment of our floors even though we are unable to receive any income while on the other hand, continuously disappointing our customers.
Which leads me to why I have started this GoFundMe...
We have been experiencing a lot of heavy rain and when my dad went out to the restaurant today he was in disbelief. Our ceilings were damaged, some parts of it have fallen down and now it is nonstop leaking from those openings. The floor that had just been ripped out has been flooded again and multiple puddles of water remain in the same spot we had been drying the past whole week.
We stirred up a lot of courage and let down our pride to ask for your help. This restaurant was built with blood, sweat, and tears only to be constantly let down by uncontrollable situations.
With these donations, we will be able to cover the financial hole that was caused by the installment and purchase of flooring, installment/fixture of our ceilings, lost income, and rent.
Even the smallest donations would be of great help and appreciated. With all genuine love, we thank you all for supporting and understanding these hard times. We pray and hope to be able to serve and provide you all the best sushi in town soon enough.
Thank you,
Irene Choi
