Hey y’all, i’m Jack. I’m trying to fundraise on behalf of my dad, Mark.
He worked for 35 years in the warehouse and restaurant industries, but after 10 heart attacks and a heart failure diagnosis, hes not able to work anymore. But, hes always been someone that tries to help those in his community. Most recently, our next door neighbor suffered a stroke, and was in the hospital for rehab and recovery. My dad volunteered to mow his grass while he’s recovering. So every week, he gets his 30 old rusty riding mower out just to help a neighbor in need.
We live in a 50 year old trailer that has seen much better days. The drain in our kitchen sink is severely clogged, and we have a leak underneath the sink as well. We had to turn the water off in the kitchen just to avoid an ever bigger problem. The photo is one i took the other day of him doing dishes. He has to fill two of those containers in the tub and bring them back out to the kitchen just to wash dishes. Worse, the floor in our bathroom is carpeted, and over the years, the integrity of the wood floor has become compromised, making it sag badly. It creates an environment that he dreads to live in. Everything is a challenge for him, and there always seems to be something new that has gone wrong. Even though his cardiologist tells him he only has 30% function of his heart, and that he’s disabled, he’s been denied disability benefits again. He’s going through the appeal process, but it takes so long, he just feels so hopeless. A year from October, he will turn 62, and will be able to apply for the minimum Social Security benefit, and he’s just trying to make it until then. Even though I personally deal with my own limitations, I do my best to help him with everything i can. I work driving for doordash, I do our grocery shopping, and I cook our meals each night. But doordash just isn’t enough to scrape by.
Thats why i’m asking for your help. I want so badly for him to have his quality of life back. To be in a place he’s comfortable in and that he can be proud of. I put a lot of thought into the goal for this fund. I want to use it to make the much needed repairs in our home, pay our property tax that is due, and provide some stability and relief from the stress that financial crisis brings. He works hard with his doctors to be as healthy as he can, and I just want him to live as happily as he can.
I thank you so much for your time and consideration. Your help would be a blessing from the heavens for him. Thank you.
Jack
