FOR MY FATHER FERNANDO

Hello everyone, I started this page as we need your help in the fight against cancer to save my dad Fernando. He was diagnosed with Kidney and Liver cancer.

It began with a regular check-up and 3 strange spots found in an X-ray. A tumor in the kidney was so advanced that it threatened to enter his artery which would be life-threatening, this required immediate removal of the kidney. As time passed the remaining tumors in the liver were attacked with Chemotherapy and a liver transplant is now needed from a donor.

Every month my father received Chemotherapy to fight the tumors. Its a painful process that involves pain in the thorax, dizziness, edema and swelling, and the impossibility of work which leads to financial difficulties.

My dad dreamed of retiring in peace and enjoying a carefree life as a grandfather but these medical and financial pressures forced my parents to lose their home. He’s lost so much of what he’s built in his life but what’s most important now is that we have each other and that we prepare for the transplant.

We must act quickly as we hope that the cancer does not awaken or grow.

Our #1 fundraising goal is $50k to help our dad Fernando through these tough times as he recuperates from his liver transplant and for the medical costs.

Para mi papa Fernando

Esta pagina es para ayudarnos con la lucha contra el cáncer para salvar a nuestro papá Fernando. Que fue diagnosticado con cáncer en riñón y hígado.

Esto empezó con una revisión médica regular y tres manchitas extrañas se encontraron en una radiografía. El tumor en el riñón estaba tan avanzado apunto de entrar en la arteria principal (Renal) que podría amenazar su vida por lo que fue removido de inmediato (cirugía).

Con el paso del tiempo crecieron tumores nuevos en el hígado, los cuales fueron atacados con quimioterapia. Lo cual es requerido un transplante de hígado de un donador.

Cada mes mi papá recibió tratamiento de quimoterapia para pelear contra los tumores del hígado existentes. Es un proceso doloroso que envuelve dolor en tórax, espalda, cintura, mareos, edema y inflamacion, imposibilidad de trabajar lo cual provoca dificultades financieras.

Cuando otros llegan a esta edad con la esperanza de retirarse en paz, disfrutando su tiempo como abuelos nuestro papá tuvo que pasar por cirugías y con doctores para sus sesiones de tratamiento.

Nosotros notamos la fuerza de papá en la pelea contra el cáncer. El perdió mucho de lo que construyó en su vida, pero lo mas importante es que estamos juntos a través de esto y que nos preparemos para enfrentar los desafíos que aún están por llegar de esta enfermedad.

Él está ahora en una “Lista de espera de transplante de hígado”. No existe otra opción solo pelear contra el cáncer por medio de quimioterapia, cirugías y continuarán esperando un donador con la esperanza que el cáncer no crezca o se despierte.

Nuestra meta #1 para recaudar fondos es de $50k para ayudarlo a pasar por los tiempos difíciles en la recuperación del transplante de hígado y imprevistos médicos durante este tratamiento.
