Help dad recover in a skilled facility

Hi all, my name is Taran, and I am Ramons oldest child. Those who know my dad know that he is a great guy. Always charismatic, full of life, has a laugh you can hear a mile away, pours his heart and soul into his family and friends and loves his grandkids deeply. What many might not know is the struggles he has faced over the last couple of years, particularly since 2021. In 2021 dad was misdiagnosed with a brain tumor that resulted in emergency brain surgery. Long story short the CT scan was showing a brain bleed from a stroke, not a tumor at all. Following this surgery, he underwent stays in rehab centers that were always cut too short because insurance would no longer approve him to stay although he really needed the extra time. He was sent home with a catheter which resulted in him tripping in his bedroom and hitting his head on the tile floor leading to, yet another hospital stays and then a stay in rehab. Like before they sent him home after a minimal amount of time cutting any progress short. From there it has been a never-ending rollercoaster of my 2 brothers and my aunt taking care of him at home while working full time and getting very little help from insurance. He has been in and out of the hospital and these past 2 times discovered he had developed an AFIB rhythm with his heart that cannot be corrected because of his prior brain bleed, and he had a stent put in to fix a blockage he had in his main arterial line to this heart. He is currently at a skilled facility in Medina and was supposed to be approved for 20 days. My family just received a letter that they are only approving him until 9/6 (tomorrow). Again, my family has to battle the insurance companies to simply just help my dad progress so that he can truly get better and have a quality life ahead.

I am creating this go fund me (regrettably I wish I would have done it in 2021) in hopes to raise any amount of money my family can use to pay out of pocket for him to stay in a skilled facility. This will help him to get rehab treatments to regain his strength and to finally have a fair chance at making a full recovery.

My dad is only 60 years old, which means he doesn't qualify for a lot of programs the state of Ohio offers and gets minimal help from his insurance company. It also means he is by no means old and has plenty of years left to spend with his family and friends and even more time to share his infectious laugh with anyone he meets. If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider helping my family. It is so greatly appreciated! Thank you for loving my daddy as much as I do <3
