My dad is the foundation of our family and has a really good heart, he's always taught us by example to give back and serve whenever we could. He's been a Marine, a police officer and a pediatric trauma nurse. He's donated time and resources to teaching Stop the Bleed classes after working the night of the October 1 shooting. He keeps water and food in the car to give to people he sees struggling on the street. He's the dad who drops everything any time his kids need anything and can always crack a terrible dad joke to get you to smile even during the worst moments.
Despite this, his heart is sick. Last month, after two heart attacks and multiple procedures trying to prevent open heart surgery, the doctors in Vegas told us there is nothing else they can do for him here, and his best chances will be with a higher level of care in California. We were blessed to quickly get him in to see a great Cardio-Thoracic surgeon at Cedar Sinai two weeks ago. The doctors at Cedar Sinai decided that he needs to have open heart surgery this month. This procedure can't be done in Vegas and my parents will have to stay in LA for 2-3 weeks for the surgery and initial recovery before he can come home to Vegas. The surgery and stay are expensive but needs to be done now because his heart is getting worse. The donations will be used for travel and board expenses, as well as follow up appointments.
Any donation or sharing helps, we can't put into words how much we appreciate any help, sharing, prayers and good vibes you are able to give.
