Yesterday, my father had a heart attack while at work. Luckily, a friend/co-worker of his performed CPR until the ambulance arrived and took over. He was rushed to Day Kimball Hospital where they did what they could, but he still had a clogged artery and had to be life-flighted to UMass Memorial. My brothers and I were told that my father was gone for 55 minutes before they amazingly got him back. They put two stents in his heart at UMass last night, and since then, he's been sedated, and they have put cooling pads on him to lower his internal temperature to help his body and brain heal. For the next 48 hours, they're keeping him sedated and cooled. The biggest concern now is when he wakes up, will he have brain damage from lack of oxygen for so long.
My dad is 60 years old and is the hardest worker I know. During this time, his animals still need to be fed and taken care of. He also has payments and bills that are due and will only continue to add up, along with whatever these medical costs will bring. I know he wouldn't ever want to ask for anyone's help, so I'm asking, no matter how much it will help him immensely! If you can't donate, even just sharing this helps him. Please keep him in your prayers.
