Help Dad Fight Cancer and Regain His Strength

Hi everyone, I am reaching out on behalf of my parents due to dad's current situation. Those who know dad know that he's always been a hardworking, optimistic, funny, active, and outdoor-loving man. Dad always found a way to help when he could. Unfortunately, this has been a rough year for dad and our family.

On Father's Day, dad had a stroke. Due to this stroke, my dad lost mobility on his left side and became fully dependent. Mom has been on unpaid leave from her job at the hospital to provide full-time care for dad. Due to this, medical expenses and monthly bills began to accumulate. Dad was starting to do okay for a few months. Dad's insurance does not cover everything, and he has to wait one more year to get Medicare or get disability (whichever kicks in first). I exhausted my retirement money to pay for his physical therapy and help cover some of the medical bills my parents had been charged with. Dad was slowly but surely gaining his mobility back until he hit a setback. Around October, my dad began losing appetite, getting depressed, becoming more frequently exhausted, and experiencing panic attacks. We had attributed these symptoms to possible depression from his situation. By November, dad began to decompensate and started showing signs of delirium. Mom rushed dad to the hospital in mid-November. This is when they found a mass obstructing my dad's kidney. The mass turned out to be malignant. Dad now has malignant retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy. Dad spent a month and a half in the hospital and is now in a rehab facility. While at rehab, he also recently developed a blood infection. These last couple of months, my dad has been on a feeding tube, received a stent (due to obstruction), and became very weak again. Dad is expected to see his oncologist in a couple of weeks for the next course of treatment. Unfortunately, the medical bills and expenses have become overwhelming. We have tried many different options. Mom will have to continue caring for dad full-time. I’m sharing this with humility, faith, and hope. My dad is walking through a very difficult chapter after suffering a stroke and receiving a cancer diagnosis. This journey has brought not only physical and emotional challenges, but a growing weight of medical expenses.
We believe deeply in the power of prayer, love, and community. Any donation—no matter the size—helps lift part of this burden and allows us to focus on his healing, comfort, and peace during this time.
If you’re unable to give financially, we ask for prayers, positive intentions, and shares. Every act of kindness carries healing energy, and we are truly grateful for the love being sent our way.
May your kindness return to you tenfold. Thank you for holding us in your thoughts and prayers.
