Hi there! As you all know, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer over 3 years ago. His journey has been long and arduous, but he's continued to persevere with his wit, humor, kindness, faith, and spunk intact. Dad has recently been moved to Hospice and is being lovingly cared for by Robin at home.
Recently, their home flooded due to a plumbing issue, which has added a lot of stress and expense for them. There is a lot of demo, repair, and cleanup to be done. These types of situations are stressful for anyone, but especially challenging for Dad as a Hospice patient and for Robin as his caregiver. The home is not the safest or most comfortable place at the moment. In fact, Dad had a fall from trying to navigate the debris, which landed him in the ER.
I've needed to edit the fundraiser to increase the goal as the projected estimate of the repairs have gone up more than 3 times the original cost. They don't like to ask for help, but they really need it. Dad and Robin could really use a break, and I would love nothing more than for them to be able to spend this time together in peace, without worry and stress.
Thank you so much for anything that you can give, big or small, it really is going to something that matters so much. Please share the fundraiser too, far and wide! Sharing helps as much as donating, so please, just share if you can't spare money right now. It would mean so much!
