Please read the message below from D'Asya, lets help her win this fight!
I can’t believe life has brought me to this point, however, I must put pride and emotions to the side and do all things necessary to continue fighting for my life. My name is D’Asya Cooper. Many of you know me from various stages of my life, from birth to adulthood, some may have just heard my story. Allow me to share with you a little of that story. In 2017, I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. At 27 years old and mother of two small boys, this rocked my world. Surgery was done and I moved on with my life with the idea of cancer just being apart of my past. Well on February 14th of this year, while sitting in the Emergency Room with my mother and boyfriend, we got the upsetting news that the cancer had returned and metastasized to my lungs. As you could imagine, I was heartbroken and confused.
Again, here I was battling this disease that I was sure Id never have to deal with again. From March up until September Ive received chemotherapy treatments along with multiple CT Scan’s, Biopsies and etc. In October we got the news that the cancer was not responding to the chemotherapy any longer and it was time for us to find a new treatment plan. That plan brought new medications that ravaged my body and has then sent me down a trying path of horrible side effects and lost hope.
My doctors are at a point of uncertainty of what to do in order to help me. With that being said, It's time for a second opinion. I have found two specialists one in state and the other out of state that will collaboratively manage my care. Of course this means, unfortunately, I will have to travel, be away from our children and partner as well as pay all medical expenses out of pocket as my insurance will not cover my therapeutic treatments. I ask this help only because..well..my life is depending on it. I want to be here to see my children grow. I want to grow old with the ones I love. I’m only 29 years old. If you can help monetarily that will be such a blessing. If not, please just keep my family and I in your prayers.
Thank you
