Help D Jerome Smedley Get Back on the Road

My name is Jerome Smedley of Birmingham, AL and I'm a full time portrait & event photographer, part time real estate photographer and I DoorDash to make ends meet. I also volunteer at my local church with the photography & media team.

In April 2025, my reliable 2010 Chevy traverse, completely broke down on me while I was traveling for work. It turns out the cam shafts went bad and I need a whole new engine. I planned to fix it but the cost would be the same as a down payment on something more dependable.

I've tried applying for loans, running photoshoot specials, getting rides to photoshoots, borrowing vehicles to get to work and working as hard as possible to raise the funds within my own means, but just can't get to where I can raise it with cost of alternative transportation, bills, debt and other obligations.

I'm just trying to get back to work so l can start working somewhere full time and traveling to do more lucrative photo work. I'm also helping care for my elderly ex father-in-law who has fallen on harder times than me so | took him in until he gets placed in a good home.

I would rather do this any kind of way but this the only way I know to raise everything and fully get back to rebuilding my life after one of the worst seasons of my life.
