Help D Help Tig!

In January of 2020, D Surowitz-Lightman adopted a striking floofy nine year old cat named Tigger Marie Rose (Tig for short), and a beautiful symbiotic partnership began. Tig supported D through intensive surgery recovery in February of 2020, and has been a lovely, snuggly, hilarious, adorable noodle companion throughout these trying years of covid.

Look at this zoom master! After multiple failed adoptions prior to D, Tig finally had her forever home and was due to live out her golden years with her very adoring and doting human.

This week, Tig suddenly stopped eating, and the little she could get down, she threw up. Immediately, D and D's partner Paige took her to the vet, where ultrasound and biopsy results revealed a cancerous mass on sweet Tig's pancreas. Tig is home now with lots of meds, but has to be seen by a veterinary oncologist, who will determine the best course of action.

D is committed to providing the best care possible to Tig, whether this means surgery to remove and treat the cancer so Tig can begin to heal, or palliative options if a cure does not appear likely. Either way, D faces mounting cat medical bills that have already topped $3,000 and will continue to climb. D also has to take off work to drive Tig to her appointments, some far away (for example, the only oncologist who can see her before July is in Boston), which means a loss in pay.

If Tig has ever made you smile on a zoom call or through a photo on D's facebook or insta pages, or if you just agree that cat medical problems shouldn't cause severe financial stress for queer young adult cat owners (or for that matter, anyone!), throw this sweet pair some money. Hopefully, the money you donate will be an investment in many more years of Tig and D's symbiotic partnership! But even if this does end up being the end of the road for Tig, trust that every cent you donate will go towards making this sad time a little less stressful, so Tig and D can enjoy their final days together.
