Czeslaw Knobbe is my dear friend, and he’s facing an incredibly tough time. On February 27th, 2026, the apartment where he lived was involved in a devastating fire. Czeslaw was sleeping when the fire started in the unit below his apartment, and he nearly lost his life from the smoke. The experience was terrifying, and the aftermath has left him without a safe place to call home.

The fire destroyed everything Czeslaw owned. His apartment was deemed uninhabitable, and he lost all his clothes, bedding, and personal belongings. At 68 years old, Czeslaw is retired and relies on Social Security to get by. He became handicapped after injuries from a car accident that was not his fault, and he’s unable to work physically. This makes it even harder for him to recover from such a sudden and overwhelming loss.

The funds raised will go directly toward buying clothes, bedding, mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, and towels—basic necessities that he urgently needs.
