I am Cleta and I met Mr. Cyriaque and his family some time ago and realized that they have been experiencing great loss and financial hardship after years of challenges. After being married as newlyweds, they were supposed to move into their new home, which they started 6 years ago, but the sudden loss of one of his parents and the other being totally blind and immobile have held back their home’s progress as they continue to live at the blind parent’s home in a shanty. He must help his blind father with errands and maintain some of his transactions while a caretaker provides him with everyday care.
Their incomplete property sustained partial damage because of high winds during a 2023 storm. The area has been partially repaired; however, progress on the house is currently delayed due to external circumstances. Their quality of life and overall wellness have diminished due to his wife’s chronic health problems and other reasons that make it hard for them to enjoy life. His only farm equipment (tractor) is not operational due to technical difficulties that are costly to fix, and tilling the land by hand is not an easy task for him alone. The family car has mechanical problems, so they rely on their neighbor for assistance with transportation to therapy and medical appointments for his wife when necessary, till the car is fixed.
One year after they married, his wife became disabled with neck and back injuries from complications caused by a car accident when someone ran a red light. Her disabilities limit her ability to stand, walk, or sit for more than 5 minutes. Her allergies to food and medicine make pain management more complex and increase costs because she is unable to tolerate most fruits and vegetables. Allergies to molds around his wife’s current atmosphere are causing her more health problems, and they would like to move to their own place as soon as possible, at least before Easter of 2026, after years of distress. His wife's father and sister have passed away, and her mother lives with a disability. His wife’s disabilities make it impossible for her to drive or conduct her daily activities like washing, cooking, sweeping, and mopping, and he must provide her with care. They do not have any kids or family to help with caring for his wife. Life at home for him is different and difficult, as they are unable to make ends meet. Their cluttered, non-spacious shack at his parent’s is not enough for the wife to use her walker or make use of a wheelchair or where she can exercise her legs to keep her mobile. Her hands are also not able to use those devices yet due to pain. The shower is too small, and she has fallen in it a few times.
As a farmer, caring for his disabled wife and taking her to therapy and doctors’ appointments makes it difficult to care for his crops, which is his main source of income. The reduction in harvests caused by weather conditions, disease, and limited support for crop maintenance has affected their agricultural progress.
Mr. Cyriaque does not know that I am trying to help him and he does not have social media accounts to do this fundraiser.
Caring for their family's cats and dogs is expensive, but they want to keep them and ensure none go hungry or get mistreated since they are bonded for some time now.
Any support, regardless of scale, will be welcomed during this period. All contributions will be allocated to alleviate their hardship.
Let us raise enough funds to cover their expenses so they can settle into their home after years of tribulations following a period of loss, misfortune, wife’s chronic illnesses and disability, and discomfort.
Let us be kind to this family and turn their lives around. Let us be a little meeker with another who is weaker, let us think more of our neighbor and a little less of us! Let us do what we can for someone in need while we can.
Thank you for your unwavering support and efforts, which are appreciated. Your support and thoughtfulness will stay forever in their hearts always.
