Hi, I’m Cynthia — a mom of two energetic, young children. I’ve recently been diagnosed with cancer (poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma), and I’ll be undergoing chemotherapy and surgery to treat this aggressive cancer.
As the sole income provider for my family, I’m doing everything I can to stay strong and focused on healing. I’m fortunate to have excellent insurance with a $3,000 annual out-of-pocket maximum. However, there are additional costs — including pharmacy expenses and medical supplies — that are covered by insurance but still add up significantly over time.
What Your Support Will Help Cover:
• Medical Costs: Out-of-pocket expenses, prescriptions, and durable medical equipment (DME)
• Caregiver Support: Meals and transportation for those helping me get to appointments
• Children’s Stability: Meals, school support, and activities to help my kids maintain their routines and emotional well-being
• Emergency Buffer: Unexpected costs related to treatment or complications
I’ll be on a special diet during treatment, so no need to worry about meals for me — but supporting my kids and the caregivers who help me is essential to keeping our household running smoothly.
This goal reflects what I believe to be the full scope of what we’ll need to get through treatment with dignity, stability, and strength. Every donation — no matter the size — helps us stay focused on healing and hope.
If you’re unable to give financially, sharing this page or sending a message of encouragement means the world to us.
I also am very proud of the work I get to do for a living. If you can’t support me, please go to the page for the Kentucky Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Task Force at KyMMM.org and make a donation to ensure that work continues.
With deep gratitude,
Cynthia
