Help Cynthia Fight Again – Support Her Second Battle With Ovarian Complications

Hi, my name is Hayley Valdez, and I’m fundraising for my youngest sister, Cynthia Valdez. Cynthia is only 21, and she’s already had to face more challenges than most people do in a lifetime.

A few years ago, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She bravely underwent surgery and chemotherapy, losing one ovary in the process. Since then, she’s been cancer-free for 3.5 years, but that is now at risk.

Just recently, Cynthia developed a painful and complex cyst on her only remaining ovary. It is the size of a peach. After multiple scans, her doctors determined she will need surgery later this month to remove it. During the procedure, the cyst will be tested for cancer. There is a serious risk that she could lose her remaining ovary — which would require lifelong hormone replacement therapy and further complicate her future health.

Right now, she’s in severe pain every day, trying to manage this while still working and pushing forward with her plans of nursing school. But the reality is, she won’t be able to work for at least six weeks after surgery, which is going to have a major financial impact. She is also still paying the costs of her previous fight with cancer.

Cynthia has worked so hard to rebuild her life and was just preparing to begin nursing school this August, a dream that was inspired by her previous fight. But between the cost of medical care, recovery time, and the unexpected expenses piling up, that dream and her life is now at risk.

If you are able to give anything at all, it will help cover:

  • Her upcoming surgery
  • Recovery-related expenses (rent, groceries, basic needs)
  • Medical bills including recent MRI and CT scans
  • Support to help her still attend nursing school

This has all happened so fast, and our family is still processing everything. But we know Cynthia will keep fighting and with your support, she won’t have to do it alone.

Thank you so much for reading, sharing, donating, and standing by her. We’ll keep everyone updated on her journey and how the funds are being used. Every bit of help means more than you know.

With deep gratitude,
Hayley Valdez
