On July 28, 2024, my family was faced with a catastrophic event when my mom was rushed to the emergency room. We learned she had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. This caused paralysis on her right side and inability to speak. She will need months of recovery, which will also include dialysis as her kidney function has decreased. We want to be able to get her the best care facility for her recovery. We, as a family, would like to be able to cover the cost of rehabilitation at a skilled nursing facility, and afford any debts she may incur. We are still unsure of the impact this had and what kind of future expenses or care she will need. Even with health insurance, there are expenses we must pay out of pocket.

I can say that my mom has enough love to fuel a small country! She is her own weather system. Close your eyes and imagine the sky. Now imagine it circling the world; warm, shining, raining, storming, a patchwork of stars, wind, occasional tornadoes, and a preponderance of perfect blue. Well, that's how much ‘weather’ there is in my mom. She rains love. She rains love and pride on her children, grandchildren, and just about anyone she comes into contact with. So we are asking for the support of our community, our friends, and all who love her.

Anyone that has met my mom, or been a part of her life knows the vibrant, loving, and special person she is. We want to give her the best opportunity to recover and live the beautiful life she has given to us.
