Hi, my name is Iris, and I’m making this GoFundMe for my best friend, Cynthia, and her husband, Willie. Cynthia and Willie are two of the most generous and caring people I know, always the first to offer their time, love, and energy to our community, church, and those in need.
I’m writing this because she’s too stressed and overwhelmed to ask for help herself, and honestly, nobody should have to carry what she’s carrying right now.
Recently, Willie suffered multiple mini strokes, and now doctors have found microhemorrhaging in eight different areas outside the brain — which means blood is slowly leaking.
They also found significant slow brain-wave activity on the left side of his brain, which affects memory, awareness, and movement.
Right now, Willie is extremely confused.
Every day he knows a little less.
Some days he doesn’t recognize things, or forgets where he is.
His mobility is affected and he has trouble walking without dragging his foot.
Cynthia has been by his side through every test, every scare, every sleepless night. She’s trying so hard to stay strong, but this is breaking her in ways most people will never understand.
What Doctors Are Saying:
The goal is to get Willie back 100% — but they told her if his brain doesn’t heal all the way, she may only get 20–80% of him back.
Imagine hearing that about the person you love.
What Cynthia Is Dealing With Alone:
Constant hospital stays
Daily confusion and memory loss from Willie
Microbleeds that could worsen if not managed
Brain wave damage on the left side
Loss of mobility
Housing instability
No income because she’s his full-time caregiver
Bills stacking up
Food and transportation every day
Not sleeping, barely eating, and trying not to fall apart
I have watched my best friend sit in that hospital chair day after day, trying to stay strong for him. She won’t complain. She won’t ask for help. She just fights.
That’s why I’m asking for her.
What Donations Will Help With
Temporary housing
Food during hospital stays
Transportation
Medical supplies
Rehab and therapy costs
Follow-up appointments
Basic bills while she can’t work
Items Willie will need once discharged
This isn’t just a medical emergency — this is their whole life changing in real time.
If you can help, even with a dollar or a share, it means more than you know.
Let’s help Cynthia keep her husband safe, supported, and on the path to healing.
Thank you for caring.
