A little over two years ago, closer to 3 years now, I (Cyndi) was in a wreck causing my right lower leg/ankle/foot to all break, which in turn caused me to lose work and miss out on a lot of my normal daily activities and being able to live life doing the things I used to, or time doing activities with my family. I woke up with pins sticking out of my leg, which was pretty scary. They had gone in and placed a titanium plate and numerous pins and rods in my leg/foot and had to completely rebuild my ankle with what fractured and broken bones they could. It was almost a year before I could start walking on it and thought it had healed, only to have it break just right around a year and a half later from being able to walk on it. The plate in my leg had snapped right in half, causing me to not be able to put weight on it, which hindered my life with my kids and family yet again! I didn’t want to have to go through that all over again, so after a lot of thought and prayer and talking amongst family, I decided to have it amputated, not thinking about how we’d afford the process of getting a prosthetic. We had anticipated insurance being able to help cover it or at least a major portion. Which leads me to here having to ask for help. Unfortunately, we’ve been jumping through hoops, facing one thing after another with the process, preventing me from moving forward to getting my prosthetic. Without me being able to work, it’s already been a struggle for my fiancé having to be the sole provider and him having to take off work all the time for my doctor’s visits. I was so close to being able to walk again and resume an active life with my family. Any help at all would be a true blessing right now, so that we can move forward and get me back up on two feet again!
