I was always the breadwinner and now feel worthless like I have no purpose. Hello my name is Cyndi I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother For the last 25+ years I’ve been a nurse and also a nurse for the state of Iowa and the last few years that I was employed with Glenwood resource center in Glenwood, Iowa.Due to lake of maintenance on the property I’ve fallen on their property three times the last four years I work there the last fall on February 16, 2023, breaking my spine in a previous fusion on my back from 2012, I have filed for disability with the request of my neurosurgeon who just finished my seventh back surgery, which failed and now I have spinal instability and need another back surgery where they willI need to go in and cut a wedge shape segment of bone and put my spine back to a natural position which may or may not help. I am currently unable to work as I have a 5 pound lifting restriction, no pushing no pulling or lifting my neurosurgeon will not release me to go back to work until I have another surgery and have time to heal from that as well. I also applied for disability on August 19, 2024 and was told it would take between 230 and 280 days to get an answer that was on June 1, 2025 and disability says it is going to take between 12 to 18 months I hope. I am still in aquatic, physical therapy and in a tremendous amount of pain as of now I have no way to support my family pay my mortgage and utilities groceries and car insurance. I have depleted my entire savings account over the last year just to make ends meet! My husband doesn’t make enough to cover everything and I have nothing left
