My mother, Cyndi Colley, was recently diagnosed with an uncommonly rapid, aggressive thyroid cancer. The cancer has already spread to her lymph nodes and two areas of concern on her lungs.
She travels to UK on March 5 for surgery on her throat area. We’re told the complicated surgery will last a full 8 hours, possibly requiring a second day. After surgery, she will start radioactive iodine treatment. Depending on how that goes, they will decide what to do about the spots on her lungs.
This is going to be a long process, but she’s a proven fighter. Mom is the type of person who would help anyone with anything. She’d never ask for financial help, so my goal is to raise a little money to ease this huge financial burden a little bit. Hopefully, money can be one less thing for her to worry about right now. We need her healthy. We need our mother/grandmother.
The surgery alone is $8000 out of pocket. She has to pay 20% down. She will also have travel expenses to and from UK, as well as personal living expenses while recovering.
We take pride in our family. It’s hard to ask for money, but for my mother, I will do anything. If your heart leads you to make a donation, please know that we appreciate it from the depths of our hearts. We will be beyond grateful for any donation; no amount is too small.
