Help Cyn Rebuild her home and life

Donation protected

Our beloved friend Cyn Currie Bird lost her home and car in an accident on Tuesday Sept 13th. The accident totalled her converted Skoolie home, @Whitefangskoolie, and also totalled her Subaru Impreza, which she was towing. Please support our fundraiser to help her transition in this difficult time, rebuild her home, and get back on her feet. Learn more at Cyn's White Fang page on her website.

While driving over the Tioga Pass, Cyn lost pressure in her air brakes and rolled both White Fang Skoolie AND her car as she attempted to use the engine to slow down on the steep grade. Miraculously she walked away unscathed, along with her dog, Roan, who was incredibly unharmed. However their home was destroyed and thus their lives are radically altered. Cyn has lived full-time in her White Fang Skoolie bus for the last 4 years, and as many of you know, she prides herself on hosting and supporting others in its warm and inviting infrastructure.

Cyn is a professional paraglider who lives full time and travels in her skoolie. She had just completed a season of paragliding instructing on the Monterey coast and was heading to the mountains for some downtime and adventure with Roan.

Cyn has been extremely generous in sharing the infrastructure and comfort of her skoolie with other travellers, and White Fang Skoolie was a beacon of support for many weary travellers. Many of us have benefitted from its fully off grid, high-end build complete with seperate house solar-powered AC/DC power, Cedar skinned ceiling and walls, 6 feet of Juniper live edge wood countertop, tiny wood burning stove, gas stove and oven, fridge and freezer, antique hammered cooper sink, a functioning hot shower, and more. Although it feels irreplaceable, now it's our turn to give back.

The loss is especially painful because Cyn built the interior of her bus herself over a 6-week intensive period in 2018. She's an electrical engineer and former project manager, and she invested lots of time and over $25K into the build of her home, hoping to live in it for many years to come. She also invested $20 thousand dollars this year in a full rebuild of her 5.9L Cummins 12valve engine and in mechanical repairs. While we don't know what's next for Cyn, we know that she could use our help to get back on her feet.

Please consider sharing some love with Cyn today. If it's in your means to give a donation, every amount big or small helps. Cyn is also grateful for all other kinds of support you might be able to share - hugs, meals, kind messages, places to stay, leads on new vehicles, etc.

Your help in spreading the word means a lot too - please share this fundraiser with your friends and community. Let's circle together in support of our dear friend and community member, Cyn. We've got you, Cyn.

Hug your loved ones and be well. We're all in this together.
