Help Cut the Cost of Cancer for Denise Vickers

If you know Denise you know she loves her family and loves to have a good time. She loves to laugh and has the most infectious laugh of anyone I know. Denise has spent her life helping and caring for others as a nurse and on September 11, 2020, that all changed. Earlier in the year, Denise and her family had noticed a slight droop on one side of Denise's face and she was having trouble writing. In March 2020, she went to her primary care physician with her concerns and they told her they would monitor her and if her symptoms worsened they would refer her to a neurologist. On September 11th Denise took her two dogs out for a walk and had a seizure. Her husband, Max, rushed her to the ER where they did scans of her brain. The scans revealed a brain tumor and the doctors did not give Denise much hope at that time.
Denise was scheduled for surgery and the tumor was biopsied and Denise and Max were told the tumor looked to be benign and a lower grade then they initially thought but they would have to wait for the pathology report to know for sure. We were all hanging on to hope that the tumor would not be cancerous and that it would be treatable. When the pathology report came back Denise was told she has Gliomatosis Cerebri, a cancerous tumor that had infiltrated her brain. Due to the infiltration and type of tumor it is inoperable and incurable. Denise's treatment would consist of radiation and chemotherapy to try and shrink the tumor.
Denise endured several weeks of radiation and chemotherapy and was scheduled for a repeat MRI on November 30th. She received her results on December 9th that the tumor had not grown but it had not shrunk either. Although the news is not what we wanted, we hold on to hope and faith that Denise will be completely healed. Denise continues to take chemotherapy at this time in hopes to shrink the tumor.
We are not sure what Denise's future holds but we are believing that the tumor will shrink and she will be healed. I have started this go fund me page to ask for donations to help cut the cost of cancer for Denise and her family. Denise is unable to work at this time and has depleted all her savings on medical expenses. She has applied for Disability but it has not come through at this time.
We know Denise has a lot of friends and many want to help but don't know what to do. First and foremost we ask that you pray continuously for Denise's complete healing. Secondly, we ask that you donate if you are able. The funds will help with the rising medical expenses. They have been looking into alternative medical treatments that are not covered by insurance and the funds will also help with these treatments. If Denise feels up to it some of the funds may be used for her to make memories with her family. No donation is too small so please consider donating to help cover the cost of cancer for Denise.
Denise has recently been blessed by her friends with two amazing trips to Arkansas and Wyoming. Thank you to her friends for loving on her, covering the cost of the trips, and helping her make memories.
