Help Curt’s family with his memorial costs
Donation protected
Hi my name is Trista, I’m raising money for my family in their time of need. This will help to cover memorial costs for Curt’s much loved wife and boys.
Following is their story:
Saturday evening Curt’s right leg was bothering him a little bit. By 2am he was in pain and his right calf was swollen. I took him to the ER where he was treated for a blood clot that ran from his calf to the middle of his thigh. He was being admitted but then the Dr had a change of heart and gave him blood thinners and decided to discharge him mainly because the hospital was full and didn’t have any extra rooms.
I brought him home and kept an eye on his leg and made him walk for 5 minutes every hour. The next morning around 1130am Curt fell or collapsed while I was in the restroom. I immediately called 911 because I already knew.. he was having trouble breathing. Paramedics came and took him back to the same hospital where they had to try and stabilize him. He had gone through 3 cardiac arrests in the process. Once he was stabilized they sedated him so they can take a cat scan and found that the clot had gone to his lungs and had pneumonia. They also found small internal bleeding around the brain. They were going to transfer him to ICU but prepared me that in these cases it is not a good outcome. Once in ICU, he had suffered 4 more cardiac arrests and each time they did, the pressure to his brain got worse, his heart was irritated and his ribs already broken. He wasn’t going to make it. I sat by his side as they administered morphine to make his transition easier and less painful. He never came to and I never got to look into his eyes again. I had both boys on FaceTime with me so they can say goodbye to their dad. Carson started the 12 hour drive over and we did our best to keep him alive until he arrived but Curt didn’t have any fight left in him. I held his hand while he crossed over every minute he got colder. ToD was called at 5:13pm
