Help Curtis with kidney transplant and long term recovery

Donation protected
After almost 9 years on dialysis, Curtis had a kidney transplant January 30, 2025.

Initially, he did great. Unfortunately this spring he was diagnosed with Post Transplant Lymphatic Disorder. Since then he has been receiving infusions of rituximab and chemotherapy. After one of the infusions he developed another infection in his throat and was admitted to ICU. He has now been stepped down from the ICU but is still in the hospital (as of June 15, Father's Day).

His employer had been allowing him to work remotely but he has been too sick for that and they have stopped paying him. We have yet to figure out what to do about insurance and disability.

The next 18 weeks will find him trying to rest and recover and me trying to figure out what the summer and fall will look like with little to no income. We have some savings. My work brings in some money but no insurance, which is a big issue and likely the biggest expense we will be facing. We won't have much in the way of activities for the kids this summer, although some have already been paid for. As far as immediate expenses, I am still spending $100-$150 a week in gas to drive down to San Diego to see him. I will be updating our fundraising goal as we face these setbacks. Thank you again for your support.
