Help Curtis Breathe

Hello, I would like to take a minute to introduce you to my uncle, Curtis Salley. This is a man that once you meet him you will NEVER be able to forget him. He’s always been the life of the party, someone that could put a smile on your face no matter what you are going through. He has a heart of gold and would give you his last. He’s always worked hard and provided for his family and friends. He drove the city bus for CARTA for years and then moved on to driving 18 wheeler trucks in and out of the port day in and out.  This disease has now crippled him and he now needs our help. About 18 years ago, Curtis found out he had sarcoidosis (better known as the Bernie Mac disease). Sarcoidosis is the growth of tiny collections of inflammatory cell in the lungs. When in the lungs it brings on symptoms such as weight loss, fatigue, persistent dry cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, and chest pain.

Sadly, we’ve watch him suffer though all of this. Now at the age of 58, the disease has taken completely over his lungs and he is on oxygen 100% of the time. He is now on the list for a double lung transplant. While we are hopeful this will happen in the next few months, we know it’s going to be a long, hard, and expensive road to get to and through this journey. So we are reaching out to as many friends and family as we can, who can help us along the way. Not only are lung transplants expensive but there will also be very expensive anti-rejection medications that he will need afterward.  A donation from you would help assist with these medications, cost of living expenses while unable to work and also to secure financing for the medical care he will need to have after the transplant.

No donation is to small. Each contribution is greatly appreciated. It’s easy to forget God’s presence and power when we face uncertain and difficult times. We believe that nothing is impossible with God’s grace and mercy.

Thank you in advance.
