One of my best mates from back home, Curt, recently moved to Canada to start a new chapter in his life. Due to some immigration circumstances he had to fly home for a bit and had to work his butt off to be able to pay the bills in Canada and save to get back there. Once back in Canada, he got a job, got back on his feet and eventually got a place. Yesterday he moved everything in. He didn’t have a bed yet so he stayed the night with a friend and when he went back to his place he saw he had been robbed. OF EVERYTHING. They not only took the high dollar electronics but took his clothes, his mementos, his memories, his DOCUMENTS, and even some of his food. He was left with some socks and a toothbrush. Anyone that doesn’t know who Curt is, he is the kind of guy that would give the shirt off his back to help someone out. He’s a funny, out-going, stand up guy that just hasn’t been able to catch a break. It’s hard enough to lose all your possessions in your own country surrounded by family, but losing it all, nearly on your own? That’s rough. Now he’s the kind of guy that doesn’t like to accept help from anyone but hopefully he will appreciate the gesture from loads of people who love him and just want to extend their love and condolences for this situation.
