Hi there, I'm trying to see if anyone would like to help me pay a very big vet bill.

My lovely boy Eli - one of three brothers - seemed off-colour so I took him to the vet. He had a bad abcess. It was lanced, drained, cleaned, etc. But he got worse. The vet looked again and found that another abcess - or possibly some kind of spreading infection - had opened up on another part of Eli's abdomen. This one was very, VERY bad. It was horribly infected, and the infection had gotten not only into the flesh but into the muscle. The tissue around it was being eaten away and turned necrotic. And it was spreading. The vet likened it to the flesh-eating disease. Eli had to have a big operation, and had to have a large amount of the flesh and muscle tissue removed. He came back with a huge operation wound. It was touch-and-go if the operation would work because the vet had to remove so much tissue that she had trouble sewing Eli back up!

Good news: he seems to be recovering. He's on massive doses of painkillers and antibiotics (broad and narrow spectrum). It's been a few days now and the wound seems to be healing well, and Eli's obviously feeling much better - though he's finding his bandages, and the jersey he has to wear to stop him picking at them, extremely annoying!

Anyway, all this has left me with a massive vet bill. I don't begrudge Eli a penny of it but I wondered if anyone might like to contribute to his treatment and recovery fund, and put something towards the bill!
