Hello everyone, my name is Nicholas Davis and I have decided to make a fundraiser for my 1-1/2 year old dog Cupid, who was struck by a car this past weekend on Saturday night the 11th. I originally wasn’t going to make one of these but as she has now been hospitalized for three days the vet bills are beginning to stack up and she and I could really use the help. It all started when Cupid ran off ignoring her recall which was very out of character. We believe she must’ve been chasing a rabbit or some type of animal. Within a few minutes of her running off we heard a screech and a young lady screaming. The poor lady must’ve saw the whole thing as she said she was pulled over with her hazards trying to get Cupid to safety and someone else came speeding up the road in the opposite direction and struck my dog Cupid. From there I ran towards the commotion where I saw my dog laying underneath the vehicle, I immediately cradled her in my arms and rushed her to Ocean State Veterinary Specialists which thankfully is open 24/7 because she wouldn’t have made it. Fortunately Cupid didn’t suffer from any broken bones, but as it stands she is having trouble with internal bleeding of the lungs so she has been hospitalized with two chest tubes draining the fluid and placed on oxygen. The original vet bill estimate was roughly 4,000$ but do to her being hospitalized for multiple days it has now reached the high end of the estimate of 8,000$ any donations would be greatly appreciated and help get Cupid one step closer to getting home to her sister daisy.(my other dog)
