At just 13 years old, Cullen has already achieved something extraordinary - selection for Team England to compete at the European Taekwondo Championships in Crete in April 2026.
This opportunity represents years of dedication, discipline and determination. Cullen started taekwondo as a 5 year old, and has spent years diligently practising and learning before starting to compete on the national stage just a few years ago. In that short space of time, he’s earned many national titles and dozens of medals - an incredible achievement in itself. This has meant long hours of training, early mornings, travelling across the country for competitions and the resilience to keep improving in such a tough sport.
Selection for the England team marks a completely new level in his journey - competing internationally for the first time and against the very best young athletes from across Europe. He will have the honour of representing not just his club or region, but his country.
Like many amateur sports in the UK, athletes and their families are expected to cover the costs themselves, including:
• International travel and accommodation
• Compulsory team kit and protective equipment
• Coaching at the Euros
The total cost to attend the championships (not including training and competition/travel costs leading up to it) will be around £3,000.
As his parents we’re incredibly proud of how far Cullen has come, and we’re doing everything we can as a family to support this opportunity. Any contribution, whether large or small, will go directly towards his travel and kit costs, helping him step onto the mat wearing an England Dobok.
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page also makes a huge difference.
Thank you for helping Cullen chase his dream.
