My name is Cúán, and I have hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. As a result of pain and joint instability I rely on a wheelchair to leave my house. Two weeks ago one of the front castors on my wheelchair snapped off. I was able to get a replacement, for €500, but it's not suitable for my kind of active travel. In addition, my Occupational Therapist has recommended I get a power assist attachment to help preserve the health of my shoulders and elbows. 

Because of the wait list for public services, I'm exploring private options. That's where you come in. It's expensive to get a custom active manual chair (€3000+), and the price of a power attachment are even higher (€5000+). My only income currently is Disability Allowance and it would take me years to save that much, by which point irreparable further damage will have been done to my body. So even a small donation will make a huge difference. 

If by chance, I raise more than I need additional funds will go to funding my medical transition as a trans man (HRT, top surgery)
