Help Crystine Overcome TENS
Donation protected
The purpose of this fundraiser is to help my family through a medical crisis. My little sister, Crystine Elizabeth Dummitt is suffering from a severe and rare reaction to some recently prescribed medication which developed into an autoimmune disorder called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. More alarming, SJS has progressed into a more intense stage known as TENS (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis), a tissue sloughing process affecting more than 30% of her body. With a 30-70% mortality rate, she is fighting for her life in JMS Burn ICU, Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. (Address below if anyone would like to send a card.)
As her condition worsens, she desperately needs the support of close friends and family. In order for us to stay by her side, we are in need of financial assistance for boarding accommodations, medical obligations not covered by Medicaid, and a plethora of other expenses for an indeterminate amount of time. We have been told recovery will take at least a year.
As many of you already know, Crystine is a beautiful, intelligent young woman with a bright future. She has a big heart and a great sense of humor. She loves all living things, music, and making people laugh. She is a beloved member of our family. We must do all we can to stay with her and keep her as comfortable as possible while she and the fantastic community of medical professionals of Doctor's Hospital work together to overcome this horrible illness.
After she is finally out of the woods, it will be a long, challenging road to recovery. We are trying our best to stay strong and positive during this critical time. Thank you for taking the time to read this. We hope you will consider helping us through your prayers, kind support, financial gifts and words of encouragement. Please feel free to share this to increase awareness.
We will keep you posted on Crystine's progress. Words cannot express the gratitude and love we have for our friends and family.
