My name is Crystal, and I’m reaching out because my family and I are facing a crisis in our home. For the past six weeks, our basement has been flooding with sewage due to broken pipes. The city confirmed the problem is with our house, but our landlord refuses to make the necessary repairs. Instead, after we pleaded for help, he served us a 90-day eviction notice with the intent to sell the property. We’ve lost everything stored in our basement, and the contamination has made it impossible for my children to stay at home. My youngest can’t even be here because I’m terrified for her health. My 17-year-old son and I are both constantly sick from the exposure, and I’ve even had seizures from the stress and conditions. The smell of sewage is everywhere, and I’m scared for our safety every day. We can’t drink or shower with our water, so we have to buy water just to get by. We’re packing our things into storage, not knowing what comes next. We do have an older trailer, but it needs repairs before we can move it to an RV park, and I have no funds left to make that happen. I feel overwhelmed and heartbroken, but I know I have to keep going for my family. We need help to relocate, repair our trailer, and cover basic needs like clean water and storage while we find a safe place to live. If you can help us get through this, it would mean the world to me and my children. Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can give.
