Help Crystal Rebuild Her Life and Independence

Hello, my name is Crystal, and I’m humbly reaching out to my community, friends, and anyone with a kind heart who may be willing to help me during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

About a year ago, my world shifted in ways I never expected. My car — a 2001 Honda Civic — completely broke down when the transmission went out. Without reliable transportation, my ability to work and support myself has been a constant struggle ever since. Unfortunately, the city I live in has no public bus system, and rideshares like Uber and Lyft often cost more than I could make in a single shift.

But my struggles didn’t begin there. Shortly before my car gave out, I was the victim of sexual assault. The trauma left me lost, broken, and barely holding on. With the help of therapy and the love of family and friends, I’ve slowly been healing and fighting to regain my strength and stability. But every time I’ve tried to move forward, transportation barriers have pulled me back down.

Since losing my car, I’ve lost three jobs because I couldn’t consistently get to work. I’ve walked miles in unsafe weather just trying to hold onto employment, which has made me sick with bronchitis. I struggle with severe asthma and health challenges, and walking long distances only puts my health at greater risk. Even with Uber, I’ve faced late arrivals, ride cancellations, and other roadblocks that have jeopardized my jobs and left me feeling like I can’t catch a break.

Now, I’m at a turning point. I need to move soon, and I cannot create a stable life without a stable job — and I cannot hold a stable job without reliable transportation. This is my last option, and though it’s hard for me to ask, I know I can’t do this alone.

I’m asking for your help in raising funds to get back on the road with a dependable vehicle. Anything you can give will bring me one step closer to rebuilding my independence and stability. Even if you cannot donate, sharing my story would mean the world to me.

I’m also doing my part by selling baked goods like cookies, banana bread, and candies to contribute to my goal. Life has been unimaginably hard, but through it all, I have tried to remain positive, believing that brighter days are still ahead.
