Hi, my name is Brandi Studer and I’m fundraising for Crystal Spradling, my sister. Crystal is a 37 year old mother of a 7 year old daughter named Ava. After 6 months of being very sick, Crystal was diagnosed last summer with a very rare ovarian cancer. She had her ovary removed and doctors thought that they got it all and it wouldn’t return. In December, her blood count started to increase and in May it was back at a very high level. The cancer and illness had returned but this time it was recurrent and in her liver. She has tiny lesions throughout her liver. In July, Crystal started chemo and has been battling through it like a warrior. Last week she got rescanned and found out very bad news, the chemo did not work and lesions were larger. The doctor is trying to get her into a clinical trial. She is also supposed to start a chemo treatment called BEP that she will have to take 14 days out of every month. It is also going to make her have a lot more side effects and possibly cause kidney and lung damage. Up until now Crystal was staying positive and battling like a warrior. Now she realizes this next treatment is going to take 27 weeks and still not sure it will be effective. I’m raising money for her bc she has medical expenses and medications to buy. She also has been out of work bc she has been so sick. Crystal has to take care of her daughter and will need help with childcare while undergoing all these treatments. She will need to fix her car so that it’s reliable to travel 30 minutes each way for chemo 14 days each month for 6 months, not to mention gas money. Crystal may have to travel to Columbus if they can get her in a trial and this will cost her even more money. Crystal has started to worry so much about money that she can’t focus on staying positive and getting well. This fundraising money will definitely help ease her mind and let her get her treatments a little more comfortably. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
