Hi everyone, thank you for taking a moment to read our story.
For the past 8 months, we’ve been on a hopeful, emotional journey to grow our family. We’ve completed 5 IUI attempts , each one filled with excitement, prayers, and anticipation, but each ending in heartbreak. After talking with our fertility clinic and carefully weighing our options, we’ve been advised that IVF is our best and most hopeful path forward.
Because of Crystal’s age, our doctors have encouraged us to move quickly while our window of opportunity is still strong. The good news is that Crystals health, egg count and reproductive testing have all come back extremely positive! This gives us so much hope that IVF can finally bring us the miracle we’ve been dreaming of.
This journey is deeply personal. As an LGBTQ couple, we haven’t shared much publicly, because not everyone understands or supports how our family is built. But love is louder than fear, and we’re learning that sometimes you have to lean on the people who genuinely want the best for us.
A big part of our “why” is something very close to our hearts.
Crystal loves Cameron and Lyla as if they were her own flesh and blood. She shows up as their parent every single day with unwavering love. But she has also dreamed of experiencing motherhood in her own body for as long as she can remember. For years, she never believed that dream was possible, not in her circumstances, not in the world she grew up in. Now, McKenzie wants nothing more than to give Crystal the desires of her heart: the chance to carry a child and experience motherhood in every sense.
Unfortunately, IVF comes with a significant financial burden that insurance does not cover. Between medications, procedures, monitoring, and embryo costs, the total is more than we can shoulder alone. So for the first time, we’re opening our hearts and asking for help.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to holding our baby in our arms. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story or sending a prayer, thought, or kind word means more than you know.
Thank you for showing us love, hope, and support during one of the most vulnerable chapters of our lives.
With gratitude and so much hope,
Crystal and McKenzie
