Hi everyone, my name is Eric McElaney, and I’m raising funds for my good friend Cruzer.

We met over six years ago — a South Boston boy and a Cali dude who somehow became brothers for life. Since the day I met him, I’ve seen nothing but heart, humility, and grit in this man.

Cruzer is 68 years old and has been sober for 24 years, staying strong through every challenge life’s thrown at him. He’s worked hard all his life, never asked for much, and keeps doing everything he can to stay independent. But right now, he’s struggling financially and in desperate need of reliable transportation to get to and from work.

He’s on a fixed income, and without a vehicle, keeping up with jobs and daily responsibilities has become nearly impossible. A dependable car would mean everything — not just for getting to work, but for keeping his freedom, stability, and dignity intact.

I’m organizing this because Cruzer would never ask for help himself. But I know how much he deserves a break — and how much a small act of kindness can change a life.
