Joey and Amanda have three adorable pets in their home, including Crouton the cat, who we often say is "the main one" because he exemplifies main character energy, is gregarious and friendly to all who meet him, and is one of the goofiest dudes around.

We adopted him as a kitten during COVID, where we soon discovered the shelter did not disclose he had ringworm, so we dealt with a quarantine-within-a-quarantine, but ultimately made it through and bonded for life.

He's an adventure cat who loves riding in the car, bird watching, getting a little too bitey, and chasing his sister Frankie around. Everyone who meets him loves him and WE love him very much.

Unfortunately, as male cats are prone to do, he experienced a urinary blockage that earned him multiple trips to the emergency vet and ultimately a days-long hospital stay. He's home now and doing okay, but the unexpected costs have mounted.

Thankfully, our pet insurance covered a solid chunk, but we've maxed out our reimbursement limit for the year and we've still got a ways to go.
