Hello,

This is my friend’s dog Crocket, or what we call him, Crockee. Crocket is a 6-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever who loves spending time with his brother, Zues, and his four cats. Crocket also loves playing with his retrieval toy in the water, and absolutely adores the hose! Crocket was surrendered to the Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue, where his family fostered and ultimately kept his sweet and awkward self. They have fostered multiple Chessies with his help and have been able to give homes to all of them. Our most recent foster is a 7-year-old female named Bailey. Bailey was surrendered to the rescue recently and has been an absolute sweetheart. Bailey, however, came with medical issues and due to this, had to be put on medication. Last week, Crocket got into Bailey's medicine. When his mom got back from work, she realized what had happened and rushed him to the vet. The veterinarians initially thought he would be fine, but decided to run tests on his kidneys anyway. These tests showed abnormally high kidney values, and he was immediately admitted to the ICU. Throughout the next couple of days, his values continued to climb. After a long fight and multiple rounds of medication and fluids, his levels started to go down on Sunday. While this is great news, Crocket's vet bills are estimated at upwards of $17,000. I am asking for your donation to help his mom cover these vet bills.
