Help Critical Care Doctors Get to Work Safely
As Pulmonary/Critical Care doctors at Columbia University Medical Center, it is our privilege to care for our fellow New Yorkers in this time of crisis. We are finding it increasingly difficult to do so safely given current strain on the subway system. We have been increasingly relying on shared rides and taxis (big shoutout to our fellow essential employees working so hard to get everyone where they need to be). We interact as safely as possible- changing clothes before using the rides, always wearing masks and using hand sanitizer liberally. As we are currently still fellows in training, the use of these rides and taxis has imposed an unforeseen economic burden.
While so many generous folks have donated delicious food, and it is so appreciated, this is something that would practically greatly enhance our quality of life, our safety and our ability to care for others. Please consider donating to help us get to work so we can do our jobs and care for the sick.
We are asking for your donation to support our travel to and from the hospital given the current state of reduced subway service. We know that in this time of loss, there are so many worthy causes deserving of your donation. We so appreciate your kind thoughts, words and actions.
Thank you!
