Cristina Marin Bereavement fund

My name is Candida. I am starting this fundraiser for the daughter of my dear friend Brenda Marin. Her daughter Cristina was diagnosed June 12th 2021 with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

DIPG is a brain tumor that is highly aggressive and difficult to treat. It is innoperable and uniformly fatal.

Cristina is a 5 year old sweetheart who loves to dress up like a princess and celebrate birthdays, special occasions and holidays with her family.   Her parents try to celebrate her birthday daily to make Cristina happy and to create memories with her. Since her doctor's have not given an optimistic outlook for survival her mother has stopped working and her daddy is only working a day or two per week.  They want to spend as much time together as possible and enjoy Cristina and also help her to enjoy her life for as many days as they can.   Only 10% of children with DIPG survive for 2 years following their diagnosis and the median survival time is just 9 months.

 UPDATE:

Cristina passed away at 4:01 PM Saturday June 5th 2022 after fighting brain cancer for nearly a year.  She was a brave warrior who brought so much joy to her family and those who knew her in her short 5 years on this earth.  Please pray for her family.  We will leave the gofundme open for anyone who wishes to contribute to the Marin family to help with funeral expenses.
