Help Cristi "Kick Cancer to the Curb!"

Hello! Our names are Meghan, Colin, and Calvin, Cristi's siblings and brother-in-law. Our goal is to help Cristi with her medical and living expenses while she goes through treatment for her cancers. She will also be unable to work her second job throughout the treatment process.

In February of 2024, Cristi noticed some symptoms that she felt she needed to get checked out. After a pelvic ultrasound and a mammogram, they found a large uterine mass thought to be a fibroid. They found an abnormality on the mammogram, as well. For the uterine mass, Cristi had a total hysterectomy on July 23rd. They did a pathology on the mass and it came back as Sarcoma. Sarcoma is a rare cancer that has a lot of different types. Per the surgeon, 1 in 10,000 fibroids come back as Sarcoma. Cristi's is Undifferentiated Uterine Sarcoma - High Grade. They have not found the type yet, but continue to try to figure that out. Cristi has received one cycle of chemo and will have three to go. The first cycle went better than expected, to this point. She is ready for cycle two in under 20 days. There will be four cycles total.

As for the Breast Cancer, Cristi did a biopsy for the abnormality that showed up on her mammogram in August. Pathology showed DCIS - Ductal Carcinoma In Situ - Non Invasive. This means it will likely stay in that duct until they can do surgery once the chemo treatments are complete. This will likely consist of a lumpectomy or possibly mastectomy. If a lumpectomy is completed it will be followed by radiation.

If you know Cristi well, she is taking it all in stride and continues to have a positive outlook. She definitely is not one to ask for help, so we are working on that a bit for her. She is so appreciative of the calls, texts, visits, goodies, and good vides and prayers she has already received. All these things help to keep her spirits high.
