Good Evening everyone. My name is Anthony Aubrey. My wife Crissy and I arrived here in Beautiful Panama City Florida October 18th. Right around that same time my wife began having some trouble finding her words. Then a little confusion and honestly we both just kinda laughed it off thought maybe she was just tired from the long Van ride from Arkansas. Then she began to have a headache that wouldn’t go away. So I told her let’s go get you checked out and she said no I’m fine I forgot to take my medicine the day before so I’m fine. I went to work Monday it was my first day at a new job. The whole reason for us moving here to Panama City is because I got hired as a Property Manager for a Storage Facility. So we left Arkansas for a new start. After my first day my wife said she still felt bad. I said we are going to the Hospital no matter what you say we are going….. I told her “it’s probably just an infection or something simple they will give you some antibiotics and we will go on our way. So we make our way to Gulf Coast Medical Center off Dr’s Way and 23rd. They run some test do some scans on her head and chest and take some blood samples. Then we waited. After about and hour or so the Dr comes back in and says to us “ guys I’m so glad you came in now…. I’m not sure how to tell you guys this but you have a 2.8 centimeter mass on the front lobe of your brain. I couldn’t even speak I froze up then walked over to my wife as tears started rolling down her face. Our entire world completely changed in that instant. The Hospital admitted my wife to the ICU and called in the Neurological Specialist. They said she had significant swelling and needed Brain Surgery the next morning to remove the Mass. I could do nothing more than cry. I feel so helpless whenever she needs me to build something or pick up something or do some project around the house I do it….this I can’t fix and it’s tearing me up. I called my job that I had just had one day At and they were very understanding at first and told me to take a few days off. I called the next day to update them and they seemed a little different. A few hours later I get a phone call from the HR department letting me know this isn’t a good way to start a new job and that this wasn’t going to work out for either of us and they let me go. Hardest day of our lives then on top I get let go from a job we moved 12 hours away for and not only was this our income it was our living arrangement as well because they were helping with our place to live. So now we are Homeless, Jobless, and my Best Friend has Brain Cancer. They take her into surgery the next morning and after 4 hours remove the mass. They warned me there was going to be some complications and that the right hand and arm was now not working properly and she would need PT for about 2 or 3 weeks. They shaved my wife’s beautiful hair off and so before she woke up I shaved mine off as well hoping that would ease how she was feeling losing her hair. They explained that they would do a biopsy and would know in 48 hours if it was malignant. 48 hours later we are told it’s Glioblastoma ……Brain Cancer that there is no cure for. My best friend my partner in crime my everything now has Brain Cancer. She is my world and I have no idea how to make her feel better. I just want to take her place so bad. She is going to have 7 weeks of Chemotherapy and Radiation then a month break then start again. We are originally from Kentucky and our plan is to try and get back to Ky so she can be closer to some family for help and support. We are going to have to need some help getting back. We don’t want cash we need help with gas and we need 2 new tires for our Van before we can drive that far. Above all else we need all the Prayers we can get. I’ve never had to ask for help before it’s always us helping others but this Time we really would appreciate anything that we can get in the way of Prayers maybe Gas Cards and Gift Card to a tire shop possibly.
I know this was super long but it has actually helped me get out some emotions so Thank you to all who have read this and if you can help that would be so great if you can only pray that’s just as much if not more needed.
Thanks,…..Anthony & Crissy
