Joe and Deserie Crespo have been together for 22 years and are hoping to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in November. They have 3 amazing sons. Their youngest is 15 years old and in high school.
Six years ago, in 2018, Joe was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer at the age of 41. He had surgery, but the doctors were unable to remove all of the cancer because it was wrapped around a major artery. He had chemotherapy treatments, and has been putting up a good fight. Last year he was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, and participated in a clinical trial. More recently he has had costly radiation treatments to try and shrink the tumor.
Unfortunately, his cancer has become treatment resistant and spread to other organs. He has been given a terminal diagnosis. This family is devastated. Joe has not been able to work since the initial diagnosis. He does not have life insurance. Deserie is a full time letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service but has had to pick up part time work at night and on the weekends to try and make ends meet.
It has been an uphill battle with the mounting medical bills and the inevitable end of life costs that will sadly be upon them soon. Deserie has had to make the heartbreaking choice to work almost non-stop instead of spending precious time with her dying husband. They have hospice, but he needs more help every day with simple tasks, and Deserie must work to keep from losing her house.
Please, please help this family. Every bit helps, and all is greatly appreciated.
