My name is Amanda, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share the loss of my beautiful, playful, and healthy baby boy, Jayce Andrew DeGiovine. On February 4th, 2026, our lives changed forever when Jayce passed away unexpectedly due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). You never think something like this will happen to you—until it does. I am still in shock, trying to be strong for my family, because I know that’s what Jayce would want.
Jayce was only three months old. The day he passed, I put him down for a nap and laid down beside him. When I woke up before he did, I immediately knew something was wrong. I checked on him in his bassinet and found him cold and not breathing. I screamed for his dad, Stephen, who started CPR and called 911. The paramedics arrived quickly, but Jayce was pronounced dead at the scene. We went through hours of questioning and testing, but the autopsy confirmed that Jayce was healthy and well cared for—he died from SIDS, something I still struggle to understand. Steve and I are planning to seek counseling to help us cope with this unimaginable loss.
We are asking for help to cover the costs of cremating our precious son. We had just moved into a new home and spent our savings on remodeling, so we are unable to afford these expenses. If you are able to help, it would mean the world to us and allow Jayce to rest in peace. We are eternally grateful for any support during this heartbreaking time. May God bless our little boy. I miss him so much, and I wish there was something I could have done to prevent this, but I am told there was nothing anyone could have done. SIDS is more common than people realize, and our family is now living with this reality.
