In 2020, I made an easy decision, I left my home in California to get out of “citation nation, land of the FEE” and find a better place to live. After 2 months of living and traveling in my Bronco an angel in a dog suit found me in a Walmart parking lot… My Miles Davis! My German shepherd/pit mix.. I was already a dog mom to two wiener dogs, Buddy boy (bought off Craigslist from a gangster in Los Angeles) and Boujii ( given to me at a breakfast joint after she jumped into my arms and the owners decided they didn’t like her.. “Why don’t you just take her!?” They said.. I didn’t even order breakfast, swooped her up and took off. )
I didn’t have a perfect plan when I left CA. Just a vision… and a deep desire to build something meaningful.
Over the past few years, I’ve faced uncertainty, setbacks, and moments where it would’ve been easier to quit—but I didn’t. And now, I’ve finally found a place to begin again.
That place is becoming the Mo’asis
A safe haven for rescue dogs—a space where they can heal, run free, and finally feel safe.
My first piece of land here in the beautiful state of Florida!!
Recently I found another dog left in a parking lot and decided to take him in, Gus Gus!
Now I’m a party of 5 and on a mission to turn my land into a dog sanctuary. A place I can foster and rehabilitate future pups left on the streets.
What I’m Building
This sanctuary is starting completely from the ground up—raw land, no shortcuts.
How the money will be used (Phase 1 of the Mo’asis)
This first goal is focused on securing the absolute essentials to make the land functional and safe for the dogs.
• Well Installation
• Fencing
• Dog houses
The Bigger Vision
Eventually… a place that can expand, where I can bring on help that lives on the land, so we can bring on even more animals in need.
A place where:
• Dogs can decompress and heal
• They’re not rushed, stressed, or overlooked
• They get a real chance at life
• A tiny home for on site help
• lazy river for dogs to swim in during the summer heat
